Hi! My name is Ed and I'm the owner of I See Food. Originally from Australia, I'm a photographer and opera singer by trade, hence the overly lavish photo! (I could never grow that van dyke on my own!)
Alongside my artistic life I've worked in the hospitality and customer service industries for over 15 years. I See Food came about as a culmination of that experience alongside my years as a photographer and my love of great food.
I love shooting food. For one, unlike shooting models, food stays absolutely still (for the most part) and never gets impatient! I'm always taking candid shots of my food and when I'm out for a meal with my partner she's now been conditioned to now sit back for a minute so I can take some quick snaps! If you've ever been out for food and seen someone pull out a circular LED light, that's probably me!…(sorry, not sorry.)
Shooting in natural light is my favourite setup, but I've invested much in equipment over the years to allow me to capture the mood no matter what the UK weather is doing. From bright and crisp to dark and dramatic and everything in between, I See Food will deliver no matter the brief.
Websites are like glossy magazine covers. They are designed in such a way to entice customers and peak their curiosity. Your content should be interesting yet relevant, design layout easy to navigate, and ideally the quality of your images will make your website pop. Things like typography and colour scheme should also be given consideration.
There isn't one correct answer when it comes to designing websites. Much like works of art, websites are subjective and it really comes down to personal preference. For this reason I See Food offer free consultations to listen and understand what you're looking for so we can craft your perfect website.
I have a real fondness for South-East Asian cuisine. However, when I arrived in the UK back in 2011 the friends I made at college seemed to have a very narrow view of what Chinese food was. To my horror, whenever I would suggest Chinese for dinner, honey/lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork were common requests.
Through using social media apps like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, I See Food narrate our client's social media posts to not only post visually enticing photos but also actively educate the public on dishes they may be unfamiliar with. Our aim is to open people's minds to new possibilities and challenge any existing preconceptions or prejudices when it comes to food.
